About Scott Peterson

Scott Peterson is recognized as an American criminal.

He was sentenced to death by lethal injection for the first-degree murder of Laci Peterson, his pregnant wife, in San Quentin State Prison, and the second-degree murder of their unborn son, Conner.

As a Grade-A inmate, numerous services are provided in these kinds of prisons, including three showers each week, access to exercise equipment, and phone calls. Additionally, they have individual TV cells.

In August 2020, the California Supreme Court upheld Peterson’s conviction but overturned his death sentence.

Murder Case

On Christmas Eve of 2002, Laci Peterson, who was eight months pregnant, was reported missing.

According to reports, Scott informed the police that he went fishing and that Laci had left their Modesto, California, house when he returned.

Scott wasn’t precisely honest, showed little emotion, and didn’t ask as many questions as usual for a spouse of a missing person, according to investigators who spoke to CBS News.

Laci was the subject of vigils, search efforts, and monetary rewards for information leading to her location.

At one vigil, Scott was captured on camera grinning and laughing.

The Associated Press said that Scott sought to sell their house, sold Laci’s car, and converted the nursery into a storage space in the weeks before Laci vanished.

The cause of Laci Peterson’s death has never been confirmed since, according to forensic pathologist Dr Brian Peterson (who is not related to the couple).

This was because her remains were so badly decomposed when they discovered her.

Authorities asserted that Scott killed Laci in their home before dismembering and discarding her body parts in San Francisco Bay from his fishing boat along with a bag of cement.

Dr Peterson hypothesized that Laci might have been suffocated or strangled to death, which would not have left forensic evidence.

It also remains unknown whether Laci’s baby was born alive after her murder or if the fetus died before leaving her body.

Early Life

Scott Lee Peterson was born on October 24, 1972.

He was given birth at Sharp Coronado Hospital in San Diego, California, to Lee Arthur Peterson and Jacqueline “Jackie” Helen Latham.

Scott’s mother ran The Put On in La Jolla, while his father had a crate-packaging business.

Arthur and Jacqueline only had one child together, however, they both had children from their previous marriages.

John, one of Scott’s half-brothers, used to live in the same house as him.

Scott liked to golf, and his father was always happy to help him improve his game.

At the age of fourteen, Scott had already overtaken his father.

Phil Mickelson was his golfing hero, and he sees him as his role model.

Scott attended San Diego High School, where Phil Mickelson inspired him to pursue a career in professional golf.

Scott and his teammate Mickelson then enrolled at Arizona State University after graduating from high school.

Despite not being a professional golfer, Scott was allowed to compete against the top young golfers after enrolling on a partial golf scholarship.

Scott didn’t have as much success as Mickelson, who later rose to prominence on the PGA Tour.

Despite Scott’s ambition to play golf professionally, his plans didn’t pan out.

He didn’t believe there was sufficient cause for him to abandon himself as a person, therefore he decided to seek out another means of surviving.

He decided to try his luck in business to get away from the guys who raised him in California’s San Diego.

He was fortunate to become a prosperous retailer salesman because he would make a respectable sum of money from the sales.

Source of Income

He was making about $5,000 from his employment as a fertilizer salesman when his wife’s missing case was reported to the police.

He then lost his work and disoriented his life.

He was the first to disclose the disappearance of his pregnant wife, however, it was noticed that he did so as a cover-up for his actions.

People believed him when he told them what happened, and they felt sympathy for him because his wife had died just before they were due with their first child.

However, further investigation revealed that he was the perpetrator and not the victim.

Scott had made money as a salesman before receiving a prison sentence.

However, as of this moment, he has no chance of increasing his net worth.

His terrible deed has cost him his freedom and he is now making restitution for his criminal acts.

So there you have it folks!

Scott Lee Peterson is an American convicted murderer.

He was found guilty of the first-degree murder of his wife and the second-degree murder of their unborn son.

As of this moment, Peterson is serving life in jail without the possibility of parole.
